Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said that Vietnam should take advantage of is the producer of the world's largest prawn to increase exports to many markets, in the context of world demand increasing the supply of tiger shrimp in many countries plummeted.
According to VASEP, the supply of tiger shrimp in the world is falling while demand is rising prawn in many large markets such as China, Japan, US, Australia. Therefore, Vietnam should take advantage of is the producer of the world's largest prawn to increase exports to these markets. Additionally, tiger prawns in Vietnam need to be oriented and strategically to maintain and increase exports.
VASEP said, by the end of 2016, exports reached nearly 931 tiger shrimp million, accounting for about 30% of export value of the country's shrimp.
As of December 11/2016, China's consumer market's biggest prawn Vietnam, accounting for about 58% of Vietnam's shrimp exports to this market. China mainly imports raw tiger prawns, fresh and frozen by Vietnam with 63 times the number of processed prawn.
In addition, the US also increased imports of Vietnam's black tiger shrimp in the context of India and Indonesia prawn decline.
On the world market, prawn production in 2016 caused a sharp decline in the supply of global prawn huge shortage. Specifically, global shrimp output reached 5.5 million tons / year, of which approximately 1.1 million prawn tonnes equivalent to 20% of global shrimp.
Notably, many countries plummeted prawn supply to the world. In particular, production of prawn Indonesia provides the world declined from 40% to 20%; Indian black tiger shrimp production has only 15%, while South American countries barely tiger prawns.
